And he might have had his reasons, but I also had mine. I didn’t need him to do everything for me, I didn’t need him to make the decisions for me. If that was what he was worried about, he needn’t be. He should have known that if he had just said so and explained even from the start, I would have made those decisions on my own.

Then what was my point? My point was..I had been there for him when it was his own planet at stake. I was there for him when it was his own civilisation that was in danger. I didn’t do it for the Time Lords. I didn’t do it for Gallifrey itself. I was there, I stayed, I helped save Gallifrey…for him. I was behind him every step of the way because he was important to me. Whether he needed me or not, it didn’t matter. What mattered to me was that I was there for him in case he did. And when I needed him to do the same for me, to just…be there…he left.

And nothing had ever hurt worse in all my thousands of other lives…

Nothing had ever hurt worse than looking behind me and not finding him there. 

The one person I trusted the most in the whole universe had left me alone with fear. And I broke under the pain…
